The Corner Shop PR was founded in 2007 by Ben Chamberlain and Ryan Petersen. The combination of their individual career paths and strong reputations has enabled the creation of one of the leading companies in its field. Clair Chamberlain completes the trio of directors as an expert arts marketer. The team is appreciated by clients and the media alike for its friendly, open-minded and professional approach – while, in turn, we appreciate the huge range of work that our eclectic clients entrust us with.

The Team
Since graduating from Oxford University in 2009, Charlotte Bayley has worked as Box Office Manager at The Broadway Theatre, Producer for theatre ensemble Gameshow, and acted in productions at Hoxton Hall and The Great Hall at Hampton Court Palace amongst other venues. Following an internship with the BITE Media Relations Department at the Barbican during which she worked on the launch of the 2011 season, she was thrilled to join The Corner Shop in October 2010.

Ben Chamberlain has worked in arts marketing and PR for over 15 years; starting his career at Nicky Webb Associates, moving on to English National Opera and, later, Battersea Arts Centre. He established Chamberlain AMPR, alongside Clair Chamberlain, in 1999 to offer an integrated marketing and PR service primarily to arts sector clients. The company established long and productive relationships with many key clients.

Clair Chamberlain worked at Nicky Webb Associates before moving to Blackheath Concert Halls and then the Southbank Centre where she managed marketing for the Dance & Performance, Literature and Education programmes. She then set up Marketing & PR agencies Chamberlain McAuley and then Chamberlain AMPR with Ben Chamberlain. A prestigious client roster has included Somerset House, The Mayor’s Thames Festival, the Roundhouse, the Barbican, MAMA Group and many more.

Born in Australia, Kasey Glazebrook graduated with a degree in Journalism from Queensland University of Technology in 2004. She worked as a Television News Reporter for Prime TV in New South Wales and contributed to the 2006 book published by Pearson Education Australia, I, Journalist: Coping with and crafting media information in the 21st century. She relocated to the UK in 2007, managing press and communications at The Churchill Theatre Bromley before joining The Corner Shop PR in April 2008.

Prior to graduating with a degree in English from the University of Leeds, Tom Large interned with Act Productions and worked for the National Youth Theatre as a company manager. He was fortunate enough to tour to China with NYT in 2008 for the Cultural Olympiad and then to Dubai to work with FIFA in 2009. However, he remains most proud of running away with Giffords Circus. Tom runs his own production company, Beady Eye Productions.

Having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008 with an Acting degree Kayleigh Murphy worked as an actress in various productions and short films. She completed an internship in the Communications Department at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre where she was involved in press and marketing for the 2011 Season as well as the 2012 Globe to Globe Festival, and is now thrilled to join The Corner Shop PR.

Ryan Petersen worked in-house and in agency press offices regionally and in the capital before joining Kirwin Media in 1999 where, over five years, he publicised over 40 West End theatre productions and managed the public relations activity for many of the industry’s high-profile performers and directors. In 2004 he established Petersen Public Relations and was retained by Disney Theatrical Productions, alongside other freelance work. He is a Trustee of Stage One and lectures regularly on Arts PR to new producers as part of the charity’s intensive 3 day courses.

From 2006 to 2009, Stephen Pidcock was Press and Public Affairs Officer at the Royal Court Theatre, working on over 50 productions including world premieres of work by Mike Bartlett, Jez Butterworth, Alexi Kaye Campbell, Martin Crimp, debbie tucker green, David Hare, Lucy Prebble, Mark Ravenhill, Christopher Shinn, Wallace Shawn and Polly Stenham. He has also worked on a freelance basis for the Arcola, the Tabard and Only Connect Theatres, and for Schtanhaus Productions. He is a former Director of Hightide Festival Productions Ltd.

Chloe Pritchard-Gordon worked at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the Pleasance press office in 2006 before becoming press and marketing assistant at West End and touring theatre producer Mark Goucher Ltd. After a year she became Press and Marketing Manager and worked on a variety of West End and touring productions including Footloose, Fame, High Society and The Vagina Monologues. She joined The Corner Shop PR in November 2008.

Since graduating in 2009 Hannah Schmitz has worked as Assistant to the Producer at Complicite. During her studies at Warwick University she was an intern at Sonia Friedman Productions and Jamie Hendry Productions, and worked in the press office for Avalon for two Edinburgh fringe festivals. Hannah is the co-founder and co-producer for Curious Directive.

At the University of Edinburgh, Claire Moran completed a placement at The Croydon Advertiser before becoming an Arts writer on The Student newspaper. Since graduating with an English Literature and History degree in 2010, she worked in the Press and Events department of one of the UK’s largest NGO’s. She is now delighted to join The Corner Shop PR.

Gill Auld is an associate of The Corner Shop and works with Clair Chamberlain on marketing projects. Gill’s previous experience includes ten years at Time Out where she was Group Marketing Director. In the last few years, as well as marketing consulting, she started a baby product company and has produced and launched protective clothing into the UK national and independent retail market.
